On the 8th of May 2019, Fabricio Rodríguez (PhD University of Freiburg and Post-Doc Researcher University of Jena, Germany) gave a presentation upon the invitation of Nanjing University. The topic dealt with the question of how pressing concerns regarding the global energy transition may shape the quality and dynamics of South-South relations. Empirically, the focus was set on the politico-economic analysis of China’s trade and investment relations with Latin America as well as on the critical reflection of the underpinning developmental paradigms. The presentation took place at The Johns Hopkins University—Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies. The attendants included professors,lecturers, researchers, and graduate students working at the intersection of Global Development and International Relations.
